To the north of Es Vedra, you find ‘Isla Galera’, a small islet which offers a spectacular dive on its northern side. Anchoring is done over a rocky bottom at around 7 metres and then we drop alongside a wall which reaches up to 40 metres of depth. The begin the descent in ‘La Galera” you go through a crack in which you can find all different types of fish: Wren, castanets…
During the dive, you can see on the wall which goes from north to south, hundreds of thousands of moray eels and during the majority of the dive the seabed consists of small loose rocks which form the majority of hiding places for these animals. Moreover is the ideal location to admire the colonies of ‘briozoos’ which cover the walls, like the large varieties of sponges, all of which is a luxury to see as a diver, especially divers who appreciate the colours of the rocks which are covered by these animals.
